Celebrating the International Safer Internet Day

Kampala – Today, on the 7th of February 2023 we celebrate International Safer Internet Day, an annual event that aims to raise awareness about the safe and responsible use of the internet.

The theme for this year’s event “Together for a better internet” highlights the importance of collaboration in ensuring the protection of internet users and promoting digital inclusion.

The internet has brought about countless benefits, connecting people from all over the world and allowing for the exchange of information and ideas at an unprecedented pace. However, with the increasing use of technology, the need for online privacy and safety has become more pressing.

International Safer Internet Day is an opportunity for individuals, organizations, and governments to come together and promote a safer, more secure and inclusive online environment.

We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to educate themselves and others on online safety practices, including responsible usage of social media, secure password management, and the dangers of sharing personal information online. By being proactive and informed, we can all help to create a safer and more secure internet for everyone.

We also call on governments, organizations, and the technology industry to continue their efforts in promoting a safe and trustworthy internet. This includes ensuring the privacy and security of online data, as well as creating awareness of the privacy right of data subjects.
Together, we can make the internet a safer and more reliable place for everyone. Let us all work towards building An Internet We Trust.
