We are always at the forefront to always remind the Government of Uganda to respect and protect citizen’s enjoyment of freedom of expression whether in online or offline contexts.

MAKING MORE OUT OF DIGITAL IDENTITY INITIATIVES
Because Digital Identity is now often used in ways that require data about persons stored in computer systems to be linked to their civil, or national, identities, Unwanted Witness plays a critical roles to ensure identification initiatives introduced by the government of Uganda reflect the lived experiences of Ugandans most affected by these systems and respect human rights such as right to privacy and exacerbate systemic discrimination/exclusions.

PROTECTING THE INTERNET AGAINST MALICIOUS ACTORS
In working to make the internet more secure, it’s essential to support fundamental human rights when creating and deploying technology. By engaging a team of technical experts in our policy advocacy, Unwanted Witness develops advocatesfor respect of fundamental rights while making critical communications infrastructure more secure.
CYBER POLICY AND LAWS
Cyber Policy is an informative and interactive civic participatory platform offering opportunities for public engagement and discussions on decisions and policies that affect internet users and communities in Uganda.
The platform provides knowledge and updates about Uganda’s Cyber laws, public petitions, and litigation related to cyber, as well as focusing on either policy gaps or challenging provisions that infringe on citizens’ cyber rights.
