Cyber Laws

The Unwanted witness report released on Cyber laws with support from Civil rights defenders

The right to freedom of expression goes hand in hand with the right to privacy and this was recognized by the framers if the Ugandan Constitution when they provided under Article 27 that “No person shall be subjected to unlawful search of the person, home, property of that person or unlawful entry by others of the premises of that person”.

In the report titled “Analysed Cyber Laws of Uganda, 2016” by the Unwanted Witness Uganda with support from Civil Rights Defenders an analysis of the laws was done in  a human rights perspective that reflects on the compatibility of the provisions with Uganda’s own 1995 constitution and International Human rights standards.
